Plans for Future Periods

The Trustees aim to continue to increase annual income levels and to consider and support the widest range of charitable activity consistent with their objects and their grant making policy. They are, however, aware that they cannot, going forwards, always meet the high demands for grants within certain sectors. During the year the Trustees implemented a policy of dealing with major appeals from universities and other higher education establishments together at one meeting, which enabled them better to assess and compare the appeals. The Trustees have considered (and rejected) the idea of allocating particular sums to particular categories of appeals as they feel this would impede their ability to respond to urgent requests.
